My life is so boring I haven't had anything to report. No, that's not true, just been real busy. It's getting near the Holidays and there's lots of parties and travelling, etc. Finally, I have a spare moment to sit down and do a little writing. There are two things in my recent memory that stand out.

The first is the Ansel Adams exhibit at the MFA. Aleana and I went last week - it was awesome. There must have been 200 photos or so from the very beginning of his career to the very end. I've always known Adams for his spectacular photos of the Rockies, but they had a bunch of beautiful closeups he did as well. You know that picture of an open rose on a piece of wood you see on everyone's computer background? Yep, Adams. They also had a couple of super rare pieces where he made huge photograps (like 5 feet by 8 feet) and fixed them to those folding Japanese dressing partitions. Aleana summed it up best with a comment about how each photo looks like he waited for just the right second to pull the trigger. It's really quite impressive - check it out.

The second event was our (Seth, Tom, Mike and myself) first hash with the Boston Hash Hound Harriers. It's a very strange "sport" that was invented by British (naturally) ex-pats in Malayasia. The group gathers at a local bar (in this case at about 2:30 on Sunday) and has a few beers. At some point the "hares" leave and then everyone else, the "hounds", set off after them about 10 minutes later. The hares leave a trail on the ground using chalk and flour markings trying to throw off the hounds. The finish is about 2-4 miles later at another local bar. It's great because you get to do a bunch of running and you get to drink some beers. There's always at least one "checkpoint" half way through where the hares leave a bunch of beers as well. This particular hash took place all around Brookline, starting at the Publick House and ending up somewhere near BC. It was great. There's lots of singing and shouting and weird hash jargon. I think we'll be attending next weekend as well. Just about every city has a hash group - just google for "hash" and your city.
